The 5 modular sections, no matter the design are, from top to bottom: Dome, Core, Hull, Pylons and Thrusters. The Dome is the transparent enclosure. It handles the operator’s visual, augmented and virtual viewing. The Core contains the cockpit, access ports, life support and control systems. The Hull is the backbone of the vehicle. It is the primary node of all modules, power management, stowage and accessories. The Pylons are the active suspension system that supports and controls the hull/body and thrusters. Finally the Thrusters handle power output. They are interchangeable to adapt to the mode of travel, a modal powertrain.
The circled X design separates the Hull and Thrusters to provide modal travel. The X pattern of the Pylons allows the adaptation of various combinations of aerial, submersible and terrestrial Thrusters. The circle manifests 360 degree access. It is a philosophy of see and go, in all directions. Core access is via clamshell doors with retractable, flexible corridor airlock portals.
Each of these modules are individually upgradable without affecting either of the other systems. With this basis for design, I can continuously develop the AR-X.
