Pylon Suspension
The Pylons are the suspension system designed to meet extra requirements. They are the “X” of the frame. They are power junction points, are responsible for energy absorption and actively support the Hull on one end with low angle damping and the undercarriage Thrusters on the extreme opposite end. An automated air lift hook is mounted on top on each Thruster Z axis.
The monocrystalline integrated solar cell tops are each angled outward away from the Core and Hull for increased exposure, are isolated from the main body of the fairing by a boot and wrap around the sides of the low angle, main actuators (suspension). Each fairing is mounted on rails that allow them to slide, then pivot forward for service.
Similar to a light aircraft canopy, the entire fairing slides away from the Pylon to expose the internal components…
The basic parts of the suspension are dual upper and lower tangential control arms hinging the Hull and Thruster pivot housing. From the Core down, its stance could be likened to the base of a four-wheeled office chair. It is intended to be a ballerina. The focus is balance, strength and athleticism. The active suspension actuators handle damping and energy recovery. They give the AR the ability to leap on demand.
